SOCD CLEANER
On an all-button controller, you can press opposite directional inputs at the same time. This is called 'Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions,' known as SOCD for short. On our controller, we have three specific SOCDs to keep in mind. Here's how to access them!
S2 + A1 + UP - (Up Priority Mode):
- UP + DOWN = UP
- LEFT + RIGHT = NEUTRAL (Standard stickless behaviour).
S2 + A1 + DOWN - (Neutral Mode):
- UP + DOWN = NEUTRAL
- LEFT + RIGHT = NEUTRAL
S2 + A1 + LEFT - (Last Input Mode):
- Press UP, then DOWN = DOWN
- Then release and re-press UP = UP
(The selected SOCD mode is saved across power cycles).
D-PAD SELECT
Our controller offers the flexibility of multiple modes to cater to different games' directional input controls. Take, for example, Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, which relies on the 'LEFT' analog stick for movement. With our controller, you can seamlessly switch between analog stick and D-pad controls, adapting to each game's specific movement settings. This ensures that you won't be limited in the games you can play, opening up a world of possibilities.
Unlike many other controllers in the market that typically offer only a single directional input mode, often limited to D-pad controls, our controller empowers you with versatile options tailored to enhance various gaming experiences. Here's how to access them!
S1 + S2 + DOWN - (D-Pad Mode)
- Directional inputs will now use the 'D-Pad' configuration.
S1 + S2 + LEFT - (Left Stick Mode)
- Directional inputs will now use the 'LEFT' analog stick configuration.
S1 + S2 + RIGHT - (Right Stick Mode)
- Directional inputs will now use the 'RIGHT' analog stick configuration.

INPUT SELECT
Our arcade controllers are designed to be versatile and compatible with various gaming platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3/4/5 (Partial), PC, Steam Deck, Android & MiSTer. To ensure a seamless gaming experience on each platform, our controllers come with different input modes that you can easily switch between.
To access each input mode, hold down the desired button listed below before plugging your HITCADER controller into your device. Only after the device is plugged in should you let go of the button.
B1 - (Nintendo Switch)
- Hold the 'B1' button before plugging your device into your system; after it is plugged in, you may let go.
B2 - (XInput)
- Hold the 'B2' button before plugging your device into your system; after it is plugged in, you may let go.
B3 - (DirectInput/PS3)
- Hold the 'B3' button before plugging your device into your system; after it is plugged in, you may let go.
B4 - (PS4)
- Hold the 'B4' button before plugging your device into your system; after it is plugged in, you may let go.
R2 - (Keyboard)
- Hold the 'R2' button before plugging your device into your system; after it is plugged in, you may let go.

The HITCADER controller offers enhanced accessibility, allowing you to easily replace our stock buttons with ones of your choice. Additionally, our PCB supports light-up buttons with a variety of RGB LED animations, such as Rainbow Cycle, Rainbow Chase, and Static Theme. With its 5V output, our controller provides even more opportunities to personalize your gaming setup.
